ON THE PALATE
Sense of great purity. The initial impression of roundness and concentration is perfectly balanced by an almost youthful liveliness.
ON THE NOSE
At the beginning intense and fresh red fruit character – wild cherries and redcurrants, which then mingle and give way to notes of mirabelle plums and toasted bread.
ON THE EYES
Pale rose with shades of copper. Very fine bubbles with persistent mousse.
THE 1986 HARVEST
The cold winter, which had no negative effect on the vines, prompted a very late overall bud burst about May 7. Afterwards, warm dry weather enabled a rapid catching up, and flowering occurred around the usual time, about June 25. The summer was dry, quite warm and sunny until August 10. Then cool, very rainy weather set in. The well-formed bunches of grapes promised a high yield. but their compactness meant that rotting was a possibility. A sudden return to lovely dry weather from September 18. Depending on grape type, harvesting began between the September 28 and October 2
